Is it still possible to lead people to have an unexpected and spectacular perception of the city?, asks French artist Michel Risse – and, with “Urbaphonixâ€, offers an impressive answer: absolutely! As street jockeys, the musicians of Décor Sonore utilise the city as both stage and instrument, composing symphonies from sounds scarcely consciously perceived anymore, such as snatches of conversation and traffic noise, whilst playing on the city’s instruments – its wooden benches, lamp posts and plastic containers. An acoustic feast for all senses.
