For almost three decades, vocal artist Nataša Mirković and hurdy-gurdy virtuoso Matthias Loibner have been bringing together their extraordinary sound worlds. Emerging from their shared time with the Sandy Lopičić Orkestar, they developed a duo of great intensity, shaped by a spirit of experimentation and deep musical understanding.
Ajvar & Sterz stands for music beyond familiar categories: folk songs, children’s songs and South-East European laments are reinterpreted anew. Mirković’s expressive, ever-changing voice merges with Loibner’s archaic-electric hurdy-gurdy sound to create a moving soundscape – raw and tender, timeless and idiosyncratic.
