Gestern hots grengt

Austria

Photographer Christoph Huber, originally from the Ennstal region in Upper Styria, is one of five Austrian artists involved in the La Strada project Signal vom Dachstein. With his sensitive and moving illustrated audio play Gestern hots grengt (“Yesterday it rained”), he has realised a heartfelt artistic vision. Premiered in 2024 in the marble hall of Schloss Trautenfels, the piece weaves together original hut logbook entries from the Alps into a poetic story about change and continuity, deeply human emotions and experiences, life and death. The music for the audio play was composed by Klaus Meissnitzer.

In autumn 2025, this illustrated audio play will receive the Volkskulturpreis of the Province of Styria. To mark this occasion, we are delighted to present it once again at La Strada 2025 – in the unique setting of the KIZ RoyalKino.
