As part of the IN SITU project PLATFORM 2025–2028, Graz becomes a meeting point for artistic research in public space during La Strada 2025. From 28 July to 2 August, the festival will host a so called "Immersive Lab". Fifteen emerging artists, selected through a European call, will further develop their projects – with the goal of bringing them to production and international touring. Under the title Nature & City Development, the lab provides a space for intensive exchange on art, urbanity, and sustainable futures. Workshops, joint visits to festival performances, urban excursions, and moderated discussions lay the groundwork for hands-on artistic development.
At the heart of the lab are the Hot Houses – working sessions where artists refine their ideas in close collaboration with our international IN SITU partners. The lab culminates in curated pitching sessions of the emerging artists for international programmers, curators, and cultural professionals.
The
Kunsthaus Graz serves as the central venue for the lab – a cultural hub that bridges city and society, offering the ideal space for reflection and creative momentum.
