With its powerful aesthetics and profound storytelling, Play Dead is an unforgettable theatrical experience where the line between illusion and reality begins to blur. This stage production by the young Canadian ensemble People Watching quickly became an international success, blending contemporary circus, live performance, film, and photography into a unique and captivating whole.
In a surreal dreamscape of acrobatics, dance, and physical theatre, eight performers explore the beautiful, bizarre, and often ridiculous sides of human existence. As if in a séance, they summon a series of otherworldly scenes that feel both strangely familiar and curiously absurd. Play Dead celebrates life in all its eccentricity, just like people dance passionately to the last song before the party ends.
