A shirt full of memories. A jacket that lasts for generations. A dress, quickly forgotten. Why do we keep certain pieces – and dispose of others so easily? In their performance, Zwermers explore the hidden life of clothing together with people from Graz. Using the contents of local clothing donation containers, they create a physical production that weaves together personal stories, identities and global textile routes.
Between private wardrobes and public waste, the performers connect cherished garments with discarded clothing. What do we keep – and why? Through movement and collective storytelling, a dialogue emerges between intimacy and industry, between self-expression and issues such as fast fashion and overconsumption. The project invites us to rethink our relationship with clothing.
